Private Yoga Therapy

When traditional approaches haven’t been enough, yoga therapy offers a personalized, therapeutic approach to support healing, self-regulation, and resilience. It can be especially supportive when chronic symptoms persist, recovery feels incomplete, or when conventional approaches alone have not fully addressed what you’re experiencing. One-on-one sessions are tailored to your unique needs, abilities, and life circumstances, using adapted movement, breathwork, meditation, and lifestyle tools. All work is offered in a private setting that prioritizes safety, confidentiality, and care.

How does Yoga Therapy work? What can I expect from my sessions?

Yoga therapy is a collaborative, individualized process designed to meet you where you are physically, mentally, and emotionally. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience, and evolve over time as your symptoms, capacity, and life circumstances change. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, yoga therapy focuses on building sustainable practices that support healing, self-regulation, and long-term wellbeing.

1. Formal Intake

Your first session begins with a comprehensive intake. We’ll discuss your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, stressors, and goals, as well as any medical care you’re currently receiving. This conversation helps me understand the full context of what’s happening in your body and nervous system, and ensures that the practices offered are appropriate, safe, and supportive.

2. Yoga Therapy Practices

Based on your intake and current needs, each session may include a combination of therapeutic movement (asana), breathwork, meditation, relaxation, or mindfulness practices. The specific tools used will depend on your symptoms, energy levels, and capacity on that day. Practices are always adapted and accessible, with an emphasis on nervous system regulation rather than performance or achievement.

3. Practice at Home

Yoga therapy extends beyond the session itself. You’ll be offered simple, manageable practices to use at home between sessions. To support you, you’ll receive personalized recordings (audio and/or video) so you can follow along with ease—there’s no need to memorize sequences or remember instructions. These practices are designed to fit into your daily life, helping you build consistency, confidence, and self-trust over time.

4. Ongoing Check-Ins & Adaptation

Yoga therapy is a dynamic process. We regularly check in about what feels helpful, what doesn’t, and what may need to change. Practices are adjusted as your needs evolve, ensuring that your sessions continue to feel relevant, effective, and supportive over time.

Conditions We Work With

Yoga therapy is a supportive complement to medical care for a wide range of chronic physical and mental health conditions. Through individualized practices, we work to reduce symptoms, support regulation, and improve overall well-being. The conditions listed are not exhaustive; if you have a specific concern or diagnosis you don’t see here, reach out to discuss whether yoga therapy may be appropriate for you.
